\u0018King Midas could turn anything into gold. Rumor had it that he had donkey\u2019s ears.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u0018After thinking for donkey\u2019s years, I\u2019ve finally come up with the Window of Contemporary Art (WOCA).
\nWOCA can turn anything into contemporary art!
\n\u0018<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The WOCA setup is simple and straightforward.
\nOn top of the usual DICA setup, you would need just any kind of window, any kind of curtain, several stools and chairs, and a desk lamp (or camping lantern).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018Using WOCA is also simple and straightforward.
\nJust sit down on either side of the window, and watch.
\nYou will be surprised how exciting mundanity is when seen through the frame of WOCA.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
When the donkey decides to move, the spectators should move their stools and chairs to the new position.
\nEven a tiny move of DICA\u2019s donkey can make a big difference to the framing of WOCA.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Opening the window also gives a different effect.
\nYou are somewhat connected to the world that you\u2019re watching, but still … not really.
\nThe presence of WOCA somehow allows you to ignore them.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018When it gets dark, turn on the solar-powered desk lamp (or camping lantern).
\nThis will provide the effect of reflection in the glass window, temporarily converting your WOCA into a MOCA (Mirror of Contemporary Art).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018Feel free to experiment when opening the window: do it quarter opened, half opened, fully opened.
\nOnce opened, the windowpane will also separate you from the other spectators on your side.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

WOCA works two-ways.
\nWhile people can choose to watch you, you can also choose whether to be watched.
\nWhen you\u2019re on the other side and don\u2019t want to be watched, just pull the curtain down.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018Looking at the WOCA from the other side is also as fascinating.
\nLook at those people just sitting and watching, and moving along whenever and wherever the donkey decides to move.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u0018\u0018Watching the WOCA from a distance is even more amazing.
\nLook at those people watching; look at those being watched.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018\u0018And look at us, watching people watching people being watched.
\nAren\u2019t we all part of this big performance?<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\"\"<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
\u0018\u0018Windows were once part of walls.
\nThanks to WOCA, they are now liberated.
\nGone are the days of the window tax and all those daylight robberies.
\nThe show is now free.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\u0018\u0018\u201cWhat is contemporary art?\u201d we used to ask.
\nWith the arrival of WOCA, we now ask, \u201cwhat is not contemporary art?\u201d
