This particular studio is at the back of Cemeti Studio (just a few hundred meters from the Cemeti Art House), looking out to the nice backyard. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 studios in this house.

See the nice backyard? It has been raining every single day since I came on 1 November, and the nice cool breeze continuously blows in from the backyard.

People have been wondering how I got the passports (for (Re)Collection of Togetherness). From a distance they usually think they’re original passports. Someone even thought I bought them one by one – he only saw it from outside of the room and so didn’t see the mosquitoes on the other side. Well, caution caution, in my projects distance misleads. Hoho.

Some people asked if the blood specks were real; or they would ask how I caught the mosquitoes and snapped them inside the passports. Someone asked why I didn’t use real blood – I answered because everything else’s fake anyway.

Oh, and I’ve made the kite for Almost Cut, with my maternal grandfather’s birth certificate in Dutch. The razorblade setup is really difficult to do, I think because of the span (from ceiling to floor). I’m now thinking of incorporating a frame or perhaps even a small wall into the project as well, to solve the span problem – I have to think of a 4:3 wall to fit a 4:3 projection, or something like this. The frame or small wall will be an integral part of the installation as well. Perhaps will have to experiment with Cemeti’s projector to find a good projection distance.

They only have 1 projector here, and 2 TV monitors with 2 DVD players. I was thinking to use a slide projector but it might be quite difficult to find here.

National anthems! That’s what I thought of earlier today.
