Nous ne notons pas les fleurs is a multiple-channel video developed from an installation and interactive performance with video as part of Soil Bite – Khoj Bihar International Workshop 2009 in Patna, India.

berawal konsep,
proses direkam dengan pengambilan gambar (yang menarik : gimana bentuk india tidak harus selalu seperti yang kita kenal di peta atlas/dsb, bahwa utara tidak selalu harus ke atas. cara ini juga ada di terra incognita et cetera ya? keren),
interaksi karya dengan penikmat karya itu sendiri,
karya ini bukan hanya seni, tapi adalah buah pikiran+”percobaan”=kesimpulan
oya, dan sesuai juga dengan context:india. yaitu dengan bunga2 lokal, dan objek negara india sendiri.

Terima kasih, Anis. Salah satu pertanyaan lanjutan adalah, apakah India dibolak-balik tetap India? “The map is not the territory,” kata Alfred Korzybski.

Selama proses berkarya, pembatasan-pembatasan kemungkinan medianya (misalnya, dengan pembatasan video yang rasionya 4:3, kemudian keputusannya India diputar seperti itu untuk efisiensi ruang) juga berperan dalam memutuskan konsep-konsep lainnya. Semua pertimbangan akhirnya tersintesis jadi satu, dan konsep ngga terlepas dari medianya.

As a result of an auction in Sarah Vanhee's The Great Public Sale of Unrealised But Brilliant Ideas, my bio has become a collective bio:

When they were thirteen, Tintin Wulia and Christiane Berndes wished that Peter Pan would lose his shadow in their neighborhood, because they thought that Peter Pan was kinda sexy. Night after night, they would think a happy thought, wishing that Peter would find them if they could fly. Nothing happened – Tintin and Christiane discovered that Peter had much preferred Wendy.

Three decades later, Tintin and Christiane are still discovering many things. One, that Peter Pan is a fictional character invented by James Matthew Barrie. Two, that the fact that Peter is fictional doesn’t mean that he’s illusory. They are also discovering that, three, it is not a happy thought that one needs to be able to fly – it is, rather, the combination of a passport and a valid visa. And also, four, that the fact that one needs a passport and a valid visa to be able to fly is just shitty.
